What My Family Sessions Feel Like

 

You don’t need perfectly behaved kids for beautiful photos. Family sessions with me are relaxed, flexible, and shaped around your family’s real rhythm. Kids can run, play, explore, and be themselves because the best photos usually happen when they do.


I’ll guide when needed, make space when the moment calls for it, and help create photographs that feel like your family: full of movement, laughter, connection, and the little in-between moments you’ll want years from now.

My family sessions are a good fit if you want:

  • space for kids to be themselves
  • images that capture this season of your family honestly

Family Session Options

$500 - 1 Hour

A relaxed family session in one location, with a mix of gently guided portraits, candid moments, and connection.

Family Story Session

 

$950 - 2 Hours

A more immersive session for families who want space to document a fuller story — at home, outdoors, or across two nearby settings.

This is also ideal for families with 6 or more members, multi-generations and multiple families.

FAQ

 

Where do family sessions take place?

Family sessions can take place outdoors, at home, in studio, or in a location that feels meaningful to your family. I photograph families throughout San Francisco, the Peninsula, and the greater Bay Area.

What if my kids don’t sit still?

They don’t need to. My sessions are relaxed and flexible, with space for kids to move, play, explore, and be themselves. I try to work with your kid's mood, and let that set the flow.

Do you help with posing?

Yes - for the most part. I’ll guide you when needed, but I also leave room for natural interaction and connection. We start with the classic "everyone look at the camera" poses then quickly get into moving, playing or just hangout out.

I'll provided simple prompts throughout the session so you never feel awkward.

What should we wear?

I’ll send guidance before your session, but I usually recommend comfortable clothing, layers, and outfits that feel like you. Coordinated is better than overly matching.

When do you offer mini sessions?

Mini sessions are offered seasonally on select dates and are best for families who want a quick portrait update. These sessions happen during Spring (April) and Fall (Oct-Nov).

How far in advance should we book?

For full family sessions, booking at least a few weeks in advance is helpful, especially during spring and fall.
